About Us

Quantum Rack was born like most business ventures, out of a hobby. Both David and I grew up hunting together. In fact, my father hunted on the Ott property before I was born. David and I have always tried to make his place better. We would plant the newest crop, burn, mineral blocks and whatever else we could to give our deer the best chance of reaching their full potential.

Recently we moved from trying to plant to finding a more concentrated source of nutrition. We looked at what was on the market but did not like the nutritional profile. So, we started to mix our own. From the research David and I did we found what deer need the most to fully develop. Not just bucks, does and fawns. Our goal was to come up with a supplement that increased the health of our entire herd, not just trying to grow big antlers.

As everyone who lives in the Gulf South knows, our soil is lacking in many of the critical nutrients a whitetail needs to reach its full potential. We started our mix with this in mind and through consultation with wildlife biologist at MS State, we came up with Quantum Rack.

Our base mix, 365, is high not only in protein, but also in trace minerals and especially high in calcium and phosphorus. These two minerals are the most important in antler development and milk production.

The second part of Quantum Rack is that we are a custom mix operation. If you want a specific mix based on your location or just want a higher content of one ingredient, we can mix what ever you want.

David Dobie

I was born and raised in Mt Hermon, LA. I attended high school at Bowling Green, college at USM, grad school at Charity School of Nursing for Anesthesia, and a doctorate at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. I have been a registered nurse anesthetist for 27yrs.

I am married to Kathy, 27yrs, and have three children: Kimberly, Connor, and Emma. Kimberly is at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Connor is in the Coast Guard Academy and Emma is a Jr at Mandeville High.

I am passionate about wildlife and property development. I lived in Idaho for 5 years where I pursued elk, mule deer, bear, and turkey. After Idaho, I lived in western Tennessee where I was fortunate to hunt whitetail and ducks. Living near the Mississippi River made for unbelievable hunting on land and water. For the past 12 years, I have been back home in LA. Since I have worked to make my place in Mt Hermon a sanctuary for deer and turkey.

Clay Smith

I was also born and raised in Mt. Hermon. I attended Mt Hermon High and then Southeastern LA University. I am retired from law enforcement and work in Corporate Security.

I am married to Brenda, 25 yrs, and have two children: Lilly and Wyatt.

I am a lifetime outdoorsman. I started out fishing then hunting caught my attention. I spent a lot of time in high school, college, and after college hunting in West Tx. That was where I found myself thinking about how to grow big deer. In the recent past, I have found myself more intrigued by how to grow deer rather than shooting them. This quest is what led us to create Quantum Rack.

Chris Bonner

I’m a life long outdoorsman and I’ve been hunting and fishing since I could hold a rod or shoulder a gun.

I’ve made so many memories hunting Canada, Mexico and South Africa, but I love hunting deer, ducks and turkey in my home state of Louisiana. I go thru great lengths and money to keep my herd as healthy as possible. I have become passionate about taking care of wildlife and watching them mature. I joined Dave and Clay because they shared the same passion of keeping their deer herd healthy and strong.
